Circular Scissors Lift

Two bars are attached at their center with a hinge to form scissors. Three such scissors are arranged to form the first story, held firmly in place for stability. More stories are stacked to make a framework. To extend or retract the structure, the bottom three cylinders are moved horizontally in and out of the central cylinder.
