This Demonstration represents how the number of nucleotides influences the guanine-cytosine (GC) content, which is the percentage of nitrogenous bases in a DNA molecule. Simply drag the contents of specific nucleotides and watch the GC percentage change next to the graph. The formula for the GC fraction is .
