This Demonstration shows the same cellular automata (CA) on the regular tessellations: triangular, square, and hexagonal. One-dimension range-two semi-totalistic CA are used. The sequence of initial conditions is generated in a way that at each step a single black cell replaces one randomly selected white cell. This ensures that the CA patterns are quite diverse but hopefully do not appear overly chaotic.
